    Is this for me?

Male fertility is dependent on your body producing and delivering appropriate sperm. The sperm is injected into the female partner’s vaginal canal. The sperm pass through her cervix, uterus, and fallopian tubes on their way to her fallopian tubes. Fertilization occurs when a sperm and an egg meet there.

A Male Fertility Panel created by Knowing Labs in order to give sophisticated sperm testing that goes beyond standard semen analysis and provides clinically significant results.

Making mature, healthy sperm that can travel depends on many things. Problems can stop cells from growing into sperm. These are the main causes of male infertility:

    • Sperm Disorders
    • Varicoceles
    • Retrograde Ejaculation
    • Immunologic Infertility
    • Obstruction
    • Hormones
    • Medication

    Biomarkers

Testosterone Total: Testosterone is a growth hormone produced by the adrenal cortex. It is important for the maintenance of bone and muscle mass, as well as that of the male reproductive system. Low testosterone in men leads to symptoms such as weight, fatigue and even infertility. Testosterone Total is the standard biomarker and refers to the total amount of testosterone in the body.
Free Testosterone: Testosterone is a growth hormone produced by the adrenal cortex. It is important for the maintenance of bone and muscle mass, as well as that of the male reproductive system. Low testosterone in men leads to symptoms such as weight, fatigue and even infertility. Free Testosterone refers to the amount of bioavailable testosterone in the body and allows for a more thorough diagnosis.
Cortisol: Released by the adrenal glands, cortisol is the stress hormone that maintains the body’s energy by regulating the release of glucose, and usage of this glucose as an energy source. In times of elevated stress, high cortisol causes a reduction of testosterone, thereby hindering male fertility.
FSH: Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is crucial to the functioning of the reproductive system. Stimulating the production of sperm in the testes, FSH count is an important biomarker when diagnosing the cause of infertility.
LH: Luteinizing hormone (LH) is crucial to the functioning of the reproductive system. Stimulating the production of testosterone, LH count is an important biomarker when diagnosing the cause of infertility.
